What is the UModel Mass Export script?
The UModel Mass Export script is a simple batch file I wrote to easily facilitate using Gildor’s UModel program to extract all of the model and texture assets of a game using the Unreal engine.
What do I need?
You need to download and install Gildor’s UModel program.
How do I use it?
- Extract UModel into any arbitrary folder, which will be further referred to as the Umodel folder.
- Drop the umodel-export-mass.bat file into the Umodel folder. Open it in Notepad, and change this line:

- Navigate to the folder containing the .xxx or .upk files for your game, further referred to as the UPK folder. For example, Bioshock Infinite’s UPK folder is Steam/steamapps/common/BioShock Infinite/XGame/CookedPCConsole_FR/
- Copy the umodel-export-mass.bat from the Umodel folder and paste it into the UPK folder. If the game you are extracting uses .xxx files, then continue to step 5. Otherwise:
- Open the umodel-export-mass.bat you just pasted, and edit the .xxx in this line:

- Open the umodel-export-mass.bat you just pasted, and edit the .xxx in this line:
- Copy all of the files ending in .tfc in the UPK folder, and paste them into the Umodel folder. These files house the high-resolution textures, and are needed if you want the exported models to look correct.
- Double-click the umodel-export-mass.bat icon. A command window should pop up, and start dumping feedback. Let this sit and run. Note that this can take several hours to complete. I highly recommend having at least twice the game’s size free in your HDD (EG if the game is 40GB, I recommend having at least 80GB free).
